Heroic Whisper
"Dana"
M Black Filly
Born Y19
Height: 15.3hh
Wannabe Hero x Heavenly Whisper
Horse Pictured: Eblouissante
Personality: Dana... to put it nicely, is not a smart horse. It takes a while for her to pick up on things, as in at least ten times, usually more. Trying to teach her that the saddle and bridle weren't going to eat her was a challenge, as was the idea that it was okay for the rider to be on her back. But she's a sweetheart. She prefers people to other horses, galloping up to the fence whenever she sees someone there, especially if they have a carrot or two. She's one of those horses who will try to snatch a bite of grass whenever there's one near if she's being ridden, even if it's on the side of the track as she's being led (as we've found out here on the farm). Thankfully she doesn't do that during workouts since her mind's too busy on the track in front of her. She lives to please people, and so she'll do as you ask, even if it takes her a while to learn whatever it is you're trying to teach her. Aside from her love of trying to eat grass, she's an easy ride. There's no issues with being tacked up here, no temper tantrums either when she doesn't want to work.
While she's not too clever off the track, the one place where she understands what's being asked of her, is the track. We might've had to teach her several times that the gate's not going to eat her, but everything else was a breeze for her to learn. She is a horse who'd rather run with the rest of the pack, though in her case, she'd rather take the outside. At least then, she doesn't run the risk of accidentally getting jostled once everyone turns into the homestretch. It doesn't take much out of her to dart from her position to the front of the group. Then she'll charge forward as they enter the stretch, ears pinned back, a sudden change from the sweet filly she normally is. She'll gleefully duel whoever's currently in the lead for first, not willing to slow her challenge for anything. Any cue to slow down from her rider will be ignored. Her job is to win the race, and that she does understand.
